Before signing in to my Substack account, only this was visible:

"This post has bonus content for paid subscribers. Upgrade to get full access."

After logging into my Substack account, this is what I see:

"This sentence is for free subscribers.

This post has bonus content for paid subscribers. Upgrade to get full access."

I did set up as a paid subscriber, but I can still only see the 1st sentence

Oh wow. I really appreciate the thought. I'm actually not set up to take any kind of paid subscribers yet. I just wanted to play around with the settings. But I truly appreciate the sentiment.

If I decide to start sharing stuff again, I may set up some kind of paid tier. I'll probably always keep the links free, but if people want to throw a little appreciation money my way that would be nice. But for now, don't even worry about it. I don't really know what I'm doing.

That is all I can read

Ok, thank you. I wrote one more sentence for paid subscribers. You don't need to become one of those; I'm just playing around with the settings.

When I signed up for a paid subscription, I got a message that paid subscriptions aren't activated for The Midnight Cafe but they would charge me & let me know whenever they're activated. I can still only see the 1st line, so I would assume for the functionality of the "hidden" portions of messages paid subscriptions would have to be active & then those that paid would be able to see that content...
